Gaffar is an independent researcher whose research interests revolve around social movement, international environmental politics, and maritime security affairs. He obtained a BA in International Relations at Universitas Diponegoro (2019), and Master of Defence (M.Han) at the Republic of Indonesia Defence University (2022). Aside from working at Public Virtue, Gaffar also directs LSHI Abhipraya.
